Wetmore: God activity on weeds cockleburs were just emerging.
Turn rows and south 20-40 rows dark green 35P17. 34M93 looks pretty tough( pale
but growing). The 34M93 is showing more herbicide stress and a higher % dead
plants from the liberty but only running 1% or less on average
Wikle 80: Fall Panicum emerging in the SE part of the field. Cockle burs in the
red rocky soil in the NE part o the farm. Up to 1% killed by cutworms but non
economic. Corn same as Wetmore with the middles of the field pale compared to
the edges. Middle looked better here than at Wetmore farm.
Strom: good on all weeds weed control is excellent overall. Panicum just
cracking the soil in the SW field but Steadfast should still kill it. Pokeweed
and bindweed activity is good overall. Wind, cold and herbicide causing a little
leaf burn on this corn but should grow out in the next week.
Matts: Corn 6-7 leaf. Looking good weed control is excellent so far. The north
slope is running 2-4" taller than the south slope where the wind has been
hitting it. Very little additional frost damage on this farm
Beans: Crickets working on the south end a little. Water hemp , smartweeds on
edges and north field. Good uniform stand of soybeans
Saylor:
Corn: Where frosted early the corn is extremely variable 6"- 14" in height.
Where not frosted corn looks great and weed control is good. Corn growing
rapidly and is buggy whipping which is a characteristic of 33R77 genetics. Need
to spray the bottoms as soon as can.
Soybeans: Heavy everything. Read to spray after Memorial Day. Chopped ground is
.5 trifoliate ahead of the no till.
Lydik: Modified accent Permit to include AIM on the west side as there were
water hemp present in the field
North Wolney: Changed recommendation to Steadfast Callisto Atrazine at .5, 1.5,
3/4
